i woke up as the sun was reddening

i don't know how i want this blog to function—i've started lots of blogs as a youth of the internet, most of which were forgotten about at some point. i suspect it was because no one seemed to be reading/listening, but this time around it's pretty much so i don't forget anything i'm likely to forget. i think i want to just free-write—perhaps looking to the only author i've managed to read in my spare time will be of use: jack kerouac traveled america with one of his best friends, and i'm about to do the same in china—and there's nobody i know of that's so praised (and criticized) for his scroll-worthy writing. we'll see i guess.

"i woke up as the sun was reddening" comes from on the road, and it's fitting today, the morning of my final day in the u.s. for a while, for my first post concerning my trip. i don't really feel like saying much more as i'm tired, sick, and have much to do still, but expect plenty of posts once we're in shanghai. til then, stay safe.
